Aluminium control panels are a timeless classic in mechanical engineering, instrumentation, and industrial equipment manufacturing. Their distinctive appearance is well known from industrial instruments, measurement devices, amplifiers, audio equipment, and various electronic units.

Anodized aluminium offers exceptional surface durability and a distinctive decorative texture. It is available in silver, gold, bronze, black, and other finishes.

Print-ready aluminium allows full-color graphics, scales, markings, and logos to be applied directly to the metal surface.

Polymer-coated aluminium provides extensive options for graphic application and a wide range of color solutions.

Decorative properties of aluminium can also vary significantly. Surfaces may be matte or glossy, smooth, mirror-polished, brushed, or with a pronounced grain texture. Depending on the material and process chosen, finishes imitating silver, titanium, gold, copper, and other decorative variants are achievable.

A Control Panel Is More Than a Nameplate

The key structural difference between a control panel and a standard nameplate lies in its purpose.

While a nameplate primarily carries information — equipment name, technical specifications, markings, or warning symbols — a control panel simultaneously forms part of the instrument's structure.

Deep engraving followed by paint filling produces a relief image resistant to mechanical wear. This approach is particularly well-suited for industrial equipment panels that see intensive daily use over extended periods.

Screen printing is used for applying scales, labels, markings, logos, and graphic elements. The use of industrial-grade, solvent-resistant inks produces long-lasting images.

Laser engraving enables precise marking, fine text, symbols, and graphics. Depending on the aluminium type, a high-contrast image can be achieved directly on the material surface.

Sublimation printing is used for color images and decorative graphics. This technology enables more complex color solutions that cannot be achieved with conventional mechanical engraving.

If required, different technologies can be combined on a single panel. For example, mechanical machining is performed on a CNC machine, after which graphics, markings, and decorative elements are applied to the finished surface.

Precision Mechanics and Quality Graphics

A well-built control panel must perform several functions simultaneously. It is part of the equipment structure, provides correct placement of controls, and simultaneously delivers all the information the user needs.

This makes both machining precision and graphic quality equally important. Cutouts and holes must match the installed components, while labels, scales, and markings must remain clearly legible throughout the panel's service life.

This is especially critical for industrial equipment, where control panels are subject to mechanical stress, hand contact, contamination, and various operational loads on a daily basis.
